Got 801

Hey guys,

I had another thought here prompted by you guys fishing for opinions on whether Robb was stupid during the season 8 Preview episode.

I actually ended up listening to the preview episode after I listened to the 801 Winterfell episode where one of you commented on the fact that Jon and Dany’s little rendezvous in the sky was pretty stupid to do, especially given the fact that Bran basically told everyone “we ain’t got time for this shit” while receiving Dany and Jon and the army. Yea, taking the two largest weapons for a joy ride while an army of the dead is descending upon you is a dumb fucking move. Almost too obviously dumb.

Love can make you do stupid things. Like marry a woman you’re not espoused to after losing half your army for chopping off an allie’s head (Robb). Or push a small child through a window (Jaime). Or falsely admit to treason and name a king born of incest as the true king (Ned in his love for his family). There are of course loads more examples over the seasons but those are the first few that I could think of.

Combine this knowledge with the Varys comment about things never lasting, and I get a knot in my stomach thinking about how disastrous this could be for the living if this alliance falls apart. Practically all of the alliances in the north are tenuous on the existence of the Stark-Targaryen alliance. I’ve got this bad feeling about the Dany/Jon ship.

Hoping I’m wrong in all this because I would love to see them fall in love and live happily ever after. But as a wise man once said, “If you think this is going to have a happy ending, you haven’t been paying attention.”
