Hey You Two!!This is gonna be a long one.STILL enjoying the show AND your breakdown and reflection each week. I missed writing in last week so lets just jump right into my ramble, shall we? First, MONTROSE’S ASS PISSED ME OFF LAST WEEK AND I’M STILL MAD THIS WEEK! UGH! I’m glad that we are getting more into his background this week and it seems, just like Ruby and her metamorphosis, he has his own transformation (along with a super steamy sex scene! Whew!). Cool. But that doesn’t make me feel better about him. I was PRAYING that he hadn’t really killed Yahima (still holding out hope because we don’t have physical evidence…I know I’m reaching). I was hoping that maybe he had to cut their throat in order to release their voice or something. I don’t know. But hopefully, just like white and white identifying folx are discovering new things about black people and our plight, maybe people will realize that trans people are being brutally and publicly slaughtered every…single…day. And then, the world just moves on like nothing happened (hence there not being much talk about them in the following episode). Second, RUBY IS A BAD BITCH!!!!! She’s a black, full figured, sex symbol sci-fi character! Yes! Finally! I just finished to book though and I was wondering if the same spells and alchemy that allowed Ruby to become Hillary apply for Christina and William? Could there be a William on tap in that locked basement? Hmmm? Third and final because I could go on. WTF Was that dream about that Tic had where he was trying to make out what Hanna said and then started catching on fire? And it’s funny that fire plays such a big part in this story. Tulsa, the burning of the lodge, the burning of VERY important sacred texts and now Tic catching of fire. Looking forward to the insight! I know this was long but this show just keeps getting better and better. I am hopeful that people from all ethnicities learn to enjoy this show. I know a lot of watchers were saying that this show ‘wasn’t for them.’ Believe me, black people could say that about 95% of the movies and shows and books that have been created. But instead, we enjoy good works of art in every form and learn some things whether we see ourselves represented or..not. Try to enjoy it people! Peace,Johnna Tidwell
