How Bladed Weapons Work In Westworld

Hey Guys,

I’m still geeking out how great “Akane no Mai” was last night. I don’t think the overall narrative was forwarded very far, which was okay by me. It was a nice break to have an episode concentrating on Maeve and Shogun World.

Everyone is wondering how swords and arrows work in Westworld, when the safety protocols are working. The only visual I could find on this question was when Maeve slashed at MIB in the throat after he shot her daughter dead in season 1, episode 8. MIB seemed to walk away with a mere scratch on his throat-although he clearly grabbed at it in pain when it first happened. Sizemore did say that Samurai World is for the guests who want more violence in their adventures. Still not sure how arrows would work, but I’ve learned not to get too worked up about it. Keep up the good work, and I’m looking forward to your upcoming deep dive.
