Interesting Parallel

Hi Shat team,

One of our least favorite episodes of this season was episode 2, where Maeve realized they used the same script inside the simulation as they were using outside. In episode 7 we see that this parallels the way Westworld’s treatment of hosts is the same as Rehoboam’s treatment of humans in the outside world. This explains why Dolores was so well equipped to derail this system. She then used Caleb in the same way Ford used her in season 1. Caleb’s and Dolores’ path to awakening are way too similar to end there.

As in season 1, Dolores and Maeve achieve the next level of consciousness via different paths. I wonder if Charloras is being set up as the Maeve-like alternative to Caleb. Her drive is for a fake family that is human, and it would be ironic if she fights to save humanity against a human hell bent to destroy it. Which would set up perfectly for William mucking it all up by killing Charloras.

These are my predictive extrapolations. I have loved the podcast since season 1, and I’m excited to get at least one more season of shat on tv westworld!
