It’s A Sequel
Love the show (both the HBO show and yours). I’ve heard the Watchmen show called a reboot, a reimagining, a new take, etc. etc. But (and there’s nothing wrong with this), it’s clearly a sequel to the graphic novel. It takes place in the same world, chronologically later, with many of the same characters, and much time spent dealing with the after effects of events from the book (e.g. the squid attack and Rorschach’s journal). It meets every definition of being a sequel. Why does Lindelof pretend it’s not, going as far as to say it’s not a sequel in the official podcast if memory serves? Why is everyone afraid to call it what it clearly is?
Thanks,
