John & Sam

Holy crap!

I don’t know if you’ve mentioned it already but I wanted to send this off before the Small Council. I’m going to listen to the podcasts tonight.

My main point:
The look that John gave Sam as Sam is dying, being smothered by wights, his best friend in the world. I was waiting for him to rush over to him and rescue him and instead he turns around and continues on toward the Godswood in hope of intercepting the Night King. That killed me. I’m not a cryer, but that instant that lasted less than a second got me. John’s realization that as much as he loves Sam, Sam is not the priority and he is giving his life for the cause.

Little thoughts:
On top of that, the show did a fantastic job of making us forget about Arya. I truly believed that Bran was a goner.

Lastly….awww yeah! They went there. Am so glad that the kings started breaking out of their crypts. Would have made zero sense if the Night King raised only the recently dead and not the long dead. It would have been cool if they brought back Caitlyn as a zombie, but I’m not sure how they could have done that without being cheesy. That being said, the directors have done a great job of making cheesy stuff look really good. Ned is only bones so that wouldn’t have made sense.

Love the podcast!

The crypt scene didn’t work for me. The Magnificent Seven (errr six?) were able to transport a wight in a wooden box to King’s Landing. How were the Stark wights able to break free from stone tombs?
