I’m going to go out on a limb here and assume it’s been a while since you guys were single. So what you see as romantic is likely jaded because of dirty dishes in the sink, open bathrooms, and routine sex. (Maybe you’re lucky, maybe every moment with your wives or girlfriends is passionate.)

But think back to when you were on your own and suddenly found a connection. A touch on the shoulder or holding hands in an elevator can get your heart racing. You don’t need many words and it’s not about getting slammed against the wall. It’s about having someone see you.

That’s why the scene is romantic.
