Only 8 Episodes Per Season

Hey Shat Crew,

Is anyone else getting a little tired with premium series doing just 6-8 episodes every few years? This season’s Westworld will be 8 episodes. I’m enjoying it but feel there’s so much to cover it already feels rushed. The Boys was just 8 episodes, great season but it felt rushed. Game of Thrones went from 10 to seven episodes, then six in its last season but at least most of those were “supersized”. Thankfully Better Call Saul is 13 episodes in its final season, although the season was split into two parts separated by a few weeks. The 10-episode model works well, but going less than that, especially when you take 2 years off between seasons is getting a little annoying. I don’t consider myself “spoiled” by the 22 episodes most commercial TV does – I grew up in an era when each show did 13 episodes a year, then you got two repeats and burning off pilots in the 4th slot in the summer. Did The Walking Dead make this acceptable when it started splitting its seasons into two parts with a few months in between? I’m not sure but it’s starting to get a little frustrating. I’m all for quality over quantity but I think they’re getting carried away. Anyway, despite my bitching I’m enjoying the season and the pods you are putting out.
