Hi again folks

Firstly, hilarious that after a few weeks of other listeners berating you guys for being negative about the show that this week Ash and Gene totally loved it, and all this while another Westworld review podcast I listen to thought this episode was total shit! ??

Anyway secondly, I just have this massive issue with Maeve’s action and death in this episode. I loved her coming back. Even though she’d only been out of the show for an episode or two, her reawakening felt like a triumphant return. And meanwhile Bernard keeps chatting about this weapon that the outliers need and how he can’t save the world on his own. But then Maeve actually returns and does literally 2 (two) things of any substance. 1. She kills Jay. Probably would’ve happened anyway. Wasn’t that impressive. Didn’t use any special powers. 2. She ‘distracts’ Hale/Charlores. Great fight scene, yep, but story-wise – fucking shit. I can think of numerous things that could distract Hale to an equal extent. For instance, a large explosion nearby; a small, adorable kitten; another outlier shouting “Charlotte Hale!” from the opposite side of the building to Bernard.

What is going on here? I guess it’s possible that there is something else at play, like this being a simulation, or Maeve having something in her mind that has another purpose, or she’s not actually dead because someone finally moved the mind pearl to the host’s bum because no one ever gets shot there. I dunno, maybe this will all come good but if not, this was a total waste of what Thandiwe Newton brings to the show if that’s really it for her.

Love every minute of what you guys do so keep it up for all of us who spend 4x the amount of time listening to Westworld reviews than the time spent actually watching the show.
