Que Sera Sera
A fascinating choice of title. It has only just struck me how relevant to determinism the title is. I loved this song as a child, long before I was introduced to the concept of determinism. I have no musical expertise with which to explain why I loved the song, but I can appreciate why Caleb would sing it to his child. The care-free attitude always evoked ideas of a world of infinite possibilities, and yet here it is, in the 21st century as the anthem for determinism. Admittedly the song does offer an eternally prescient warning, “the future is not ours to see”. As such the only future we could ever realistically envisage/predict is one of extinction. Maybe I need to read Revelations again.
Anyway, being on this ride with you guys has made this season more fun than it deserves to be, so thank you once again for your [sometimes reluctant- Gene] dedication.
