Science Experiment in Cersei’s Belly

Hey guys, wow, last episode of the season !! My heart was full but broke at the same time…

I have a crazy thought and I was skeptical of my this after the 6th episode but after the finale, that thought came back to me.

In the 6th episode in the red keep, Cersei is sitting down with her hand-Qyburn, with a past of creating monsters (ahem, the mountain) he might be up to something else to save Cersei. Jamie walks in and they are discussing something quietly and then disperses suddenly. Few moments later that is when Cersei breaks the news to Jamie that she is pregnant. He is surprised. Then, it spun in all our heads, who’s is it?? Is it Jamie’s? Is it Euron’s? Or in my brain is it …. Cersei’s creation. There was some chatter around this news but it has ultimately fell by the way-side. We thought perhaps she was lying, or perhaps it is Jamie’s but because of the prophecy, she will be killed before it is born. etc etc. There is only a few clues leading to this, but the one most powerful is Cersei motives since the beginning of Game of Thrones, the Lannister name and protecting her children.

One thing that gets Cersei to clench her jaw and show emotion is when people talk to her about her children and how she lost all of them. She desperately wants to have an heir to the throne but with the hatred of her family, the war that is upon them, and Tommen, Jeofferys, and Myrsella’s death was all out of her control, she now wants more control over the fate of her child more than ever, so she simply conjured up an immortal child to hold up the family name and one she can never lose. Sounds super Game of Thronesie. The prophecy has had a hold on her life since a child and I think her character is so powerful because of it. Every decision she makes is an attempt prove that prophecy wrong that has been spot-on her entire existence. She has the throne now, she is off to other matters to occupy her time.

Some in-episode clues occurred this last finale. Why on earth would Cersei tell Tyrion (who she thinks is fully responsible for the death of at least one of her children) that she is pregnant with another, other than the fact she knows Tyrion cannot kill this one off. Also, that last interaction with Jamie and Cersei with the mountain making the room feel really small. She didn’t kill him but she also let him go. AKA she wants him alive but she doesn’t need him anymore. If the child was an innocent mortal one, she would need Jamie to help protect it.

I know its far fetched but Cersei is consistently ferociously protecting her family. She is OBSESSED with being ‘the last Lannisters’ and wishes that weren’t true. That kind of obsession can only drive a crazy science experiment. Dany has dragons, but they are mortal and can be killed as we have witnessed. Cersei still has a one-up game if she can have an heir/child that will carry the legacy for a lifetime. In the Game of Thrones, you either win or lose. There is no other measuring tool for this, according to Cersei, than her children and the position her family has on the realm. But winter is coming, Cersei thinks its just a silly tale– or does she? She might be preparing for this war more than we think.
