Hello fine people of ShatonTV! I talked all kind of smack on the Twitter last night about finally submitting to the telecast.

Unfortunately, the real-world included me having to lay off my team today at my day job, so I honestly didn’t have the time to focus properly on crafting a submission…and I’m late. My mind was elsewhere. ????

In any case, here’s just a few thoughts around the popular question of “Who is in host Charlotte?” and how William/MIB relates to this.

Big D mentioned on the Instacast that when he saw on Twitter that someone posited that the Man in Black is in Charlotte, he responded “well that means Ed Harris planted one on Charlotte’s ex-husband!” But is this true?

I suspect that Delores tries a few different “hosts” in the Charlotte Hale body. When one is damaging itself because it can’t adapt to the host body, Delores makes a switch. There are manipulations of time hinted at, which allows us to speculate as we do.

I’m very much looking forward to this next episode because William/Man in Black appear to be front and center.

This led me to revisit two key scenes from season 2:

* 2.4: MIB proclaims himself as death and saves Lawrence
* 2.10: end credits scene, which seems very similar to the recurring “simulations” this season. https://youtu.be/cLKezazajAQ

In rewatching, the daughter rubs me as Delores underneath that simulated skin. She says “this isn’t a simulation” but we can’t trust that.

She says, “tell me, what we’re you hoping to find? To prove?”

To which he responds, “That no system can tell me who I am. That I have a fucking choice.” His answer is very similar to Caleb’s in the last episode.

We heard Delores state that she needed to go “see an old friend” to seek help against Cerac. In that meeting I posit that Delores is going to offer an opportunity for William/MIB to make a choice. She’ll break him out and offer him a shot at redemption. But she will “own him” and he will have to prove himself through fidelity tests to survive as a hybrid host (wife’s suicide in overflowing tub and confronting his daughter.)

Sorry I couldn’t devote the time I think I needed to work this out further. I sincerely appreciate the joy you bring me and so many others, particularly in these challenging times.

Be safe! Let’s see what happens on Sunday!

Cheers,

Ferb

I love this email. I’m so sorry it came in too late for this week’s Telegraph. I am going to go back and watch these scenes myself now.
