Have a Theory? Share It Now!

Hey guys, as always thanks for the podcast, you guys are doing great. Im glad you’re all back on board with Westworld.

I haven’t heard it mentioned on the cast, so I’m not sure if you guys have seen any of the theories regarding a possible Flood. I don’t fully support the theory but thought i would share it, along with some of my observations supporting it.

The Flood Is Coming The Flood Is Coming

  • Theory: Ford is planning a Flood as a fail safe / new narrative.
  • The construction Ford is doing is a canyon that stops short of thetown with the church.
  • The construction area extends all the way to the sea.
  • This would explains why the church is buried.
  • When Ford shuts down Seemore’s narrative, the only thing he likes are the shoes. The next scene we see him breaking in the shoes. I think this misdirection and he’s actually testing the moisture level of the sand to see if it has recovered from his natural disaster.
  • Seemore urinating on the hologram can be taken as some foreshadowing.
  • When Ford shows up to the village with the construction workers, all the hosts freeze. The only thing that continues is the running water of the fountain. The sound of running water continues through the entire scene between Ford and the construction workers discussing stopping the canyon short of the village.
  • Teddys last name is Flood.
  • Teddy – “Well, there is a place I heard about down south where the mountains meet the sea. They say the water’s so pure there it’ll wash the past clean off you.

I still don’t fully accept that this is what will happen, but it was an interesting take on things. Maybe its just a new attraction for the guests and hosts to enjoy. Waterworld. Anyways, would love to hear what you guys think. – Ash

Great catch, Ash! Before episode 7, I would have been a bit more skeptical. But we’re starting to see quite a bit of foreshadowing in Westworld’s dialogue.

Most notably in episode 7, Clementine says, “I’m gonna go someplace cold,” before being snatched up and presumably placed in cold storage.
