The Red Woman – Promise No Spoilers!

Hey guys!

What happened to the red woman? Where is she now and what role will she play in the end of all this? In today’s podcast you mention how important prophecy is and Melisandre has been obsessed with the legend of Azor Ahai and now she believes the reincarnation could be Jon (since she was so obviously mistaken about Stannis being the “reincarnation”). So what role will she play?

In the legend of Azor Ahai (the short version), he is the prince who is promised and in order to create a sword (Lightbringer) from the fusion of the sword and Nissa Nissa’s (the woman he loved) soul. So going with this story, that would make Dany the only key to defeating the night king right?

BUT! What if, Jon doesn’t need the heart of his true love (Dany) but maybe all he would need is a true believer in the Lord of Light to forge another “Lightbringer”? If so, this may be how Melisandre’s character comes to an end, by being sacrificed for the Lord’s cause.

This could definitely be quite a stretch and maybe a theory that would completely disappoint GoT fans across the board but Melisandre definitely has a bigger role to play in this whole thing. Thoughts?
