I Think I Get It Now…!

Hello gentleman,

This is Michael from Washington, DC. I have been a fan of podcasts for about 2 years now and have only recently come across yours.

I have been wondering and amazed at the obsession some people have with podcasts, and especially those that go down the “rabbit-hole” of theories on TV shows and movies. Family members and co-workers religiously debate theories to the point of near fist-fights…wow!

But I’ve finally made a connection. I am a life-long pro football fan and a few years back I got hooked on fantasy football – it actually gives you the false impression that you are part of the game. I see now that “tin-foil, rabbit-hole” TV show theorists are playing “fantasy-TV”. They feel the need to be a “part of the process”, and coming up with theories puts them on the playing field. Imagine what this would have been like with the original Star Trek or the first run of X-Files. Although I personally am NOT into theories (I just want to be entertained and enjoy the ride), I do find listening to the theories enjoyable.

You guys do a great job. I am now a devoted fan and look forward to your shows each week.
