Um, Actually – GOT 804

Hey guys,

I have a soft “um, actually,” since it wasn’t really an error you said but (in my opinion) a blatant misinterpretation. He might have been joking but it seemed in earnest to me when Big D said he thought Podrick might be a virgin and that the ladies in King’s Landing who would whisper about him may have spoken about his singing voice. First of all, the ladies in King’s Landing didn’t just whisper about Pod – the whores WOULDN’T TAKE HIS MONEY because they enjoyed their time with him so much. WHORES? Refusing money? I don’t think they’d do that because a man’s voice was so sweet. *winky face*

So when Tyrion guesses that Brienne is a virgin, Big D interpreted Pod’s swig of his own drink to be a sort of confession to being a virgin as well. I felt it was a mildly comedic moment; Pod takes that drink because he has seen Brienne’s wrath and is bracing himself for what will come from Tyrion’s guess about something very personal, and a subject which clearly embarrasses Brienne. Also, if you look in the background later on when Sansa and the Hound are talking, you’ll see Pod talking with two women and leading them out of the room, all smiling. I don’t know about you guys, but I highly doubt they’re being led away for a private concert.

I’m a new listener this season and have been loving the podcast. Hate I didn’t find it earlier on but thanks for helping me look forward to my drives to and from work! Keep up the good work.
