Hello Hosts!

Long time listener, first time writing in!

The biggest shocker to me was the shift in writing of the story. I understand, there is a fundamental change in the story, but we have been trained and prepared to expect a particular formula. Now don’t get angry with me; I get it. The writers should keep doing the same old, same old. We needed something fresh and new, a little breather. I kept getting the growing need for a big finale, but it never came right up to the “big reveal.” I hyper analyze the show already, but I felt this sold the characters we’ve come to know and love very short.

First, the character of Dolores/Wyatt, it was staged to have them to be the harbinger of doom for the human race. (Maybe this is just part of the plan) This build-up of her character was all for nothing. It was almost like Dolores just laid down and took the L at the very end. Dolores up to this point was an “all-powerful”, “all-knowing” character and was brought down by her own self. Which is poetic, but it seemed forced.

Secondly, the writers treated every character as an interactive piece of the puzzle. They wouldn’t just “kill” off a character like Game of Thrones does, even if there is “plot armor” shielding them. So when they threw away how special the machines were, it startled me. The first two seasons acted as if it wasn’t a reasonable thing to see this technology, this advancement, obviously the uber-rich knew. It was just strange to see what made them special didn’t matter anymore.

Lastly, I know you celebrated the man in black’s death, but come on. It would have made us all happy to see him beat Dolores. We are all in our ways, black hats. ?? For real, though, it was frustrating how the writers are using hale as a means to continue the plot. Hale/Dolores/whatever you may call her now was a cheap plot point and seemed to discount the build-up from the original first few episodes.

These are my thoughts, but thanks for the show! Can’t wait to hear from you in what two years!
