Westworld Domes?

Have a Theory? Share It Now!
Hey everyone,
I’ve been loving the show and I think the decision to have an instacast and a full length episode separately has worked well.
I watched the original Westworld and it’s sequel Futureworld and a few things occurred to me.
In Westworld, the movie, the layout is left fairly ambiguous but we’re led to assume that the parks are interconnected as the protagonist runs from Westworld to Roman world by following a river.
We also see him enter a /maze/ of corridors through a manhole if I remember correctly. He gets lost at one point ending back where he started.
Anyway, what I’m getting at is that, perhaps just like the drawings of astronauts, the maze is a misinterpretation by the hosts. We don’t have any evidence to back this up of course and it wouldn’t explain how the idea of it was relayed back or retained.
Skipping next to Futureworld, we see in the opening a diorama of the park which shows a number of domes. There’s Spaworld, Medieval World, Ancient Romanworld and Futureworld. Another dome is labelled with what looked like Under Construction and I assumed was Westworld since it briefly makes a reappearance later on in the movie.
I’m guessing what happened was that Delos split the “worlds” up into their own segments to avoid an outbreak spilling throughout the park like in the first movie. Again, we don’t know that the park in the series has multiple parks (yet?) but it may have been inspiration for the layout of the TV series.
The main point here being although we see Dr. Ford and his earth moving machines in Episode 4 which would lead us to believe outside, the whole layout could be similar to Futureworld where it takes place in a large dome just like The Truman Show. It would explain the holograms used by the staff (having hundreds of cameras in the ceiling/”sky” and may also explain the inconsistencies with Orion’s Belt.
The Belt may be incorrect, sure but that’s assuming the sky that we see at night within Westworld is the real sky. It could be a good test scattering minor inconsistencies throughout the park. If it was true and you saw a carving of the real belt, you’d know a host has been exposed to information about the real world.
Anyway, hopefully this hasn’t been too long and I think it’s viable, given a lot of the other wacky theories you guys have been reading out.
Thanks, – Marcus
