Westworld, Kiksuya Greek Tragedy Theme
Thanks for the great podcast. It really helps fans who crave more and want to take a stab at so many of the complex themes of a such a well written intelligent show.
I want to share my thoughts on the latest episode of Westworld, Kiksuya.
I thought it played out very much like a Greek tragedy.
* Character narrates his story
* Tells of his love
* Lost his love
* Finds her and she loves him back briefly
* He then loses her again
* He searches to the ends of the known world
* After searching for a long undetermined period of time, (usually the period of aging, discovery, journey etc.) he then realizes that he has to die or search the unknown to find her
* He crosses over into the underworld, finds his love only to realize she no longer knows him
* He meets the creator, or “the one that puts people to sleep”
* Creator says your time will come.
I agree with what was said on the instacast. I thought this episode was a really high point for the series by creating an encapsulated story. If you could please touch on these points in the deep dive, I think that would be great.
