Apparently I’m the only one who thinks it’s pure VR. But VR of the future, so advanced as to be indistinguishable from “real” life when you’re in it. A trick of the mind that makes you forget, and keep continually forgetting, that it’s not physically happening.

Ford has always seen very clearly.

These special narratives are ongoing Arnold vs Ford war games. Ford created AI Arnold, who gained sentience more quickly than anyone could have imagined. Now Ford’s challenge (easy so far) is twofold: 1) keeping AI “inside the park” which is VR, and away from the Real World outside. 2) Prevent Arnold from destroying the very tech that comprises him.

Been going on since the start.

Now that Ford faces attack from Arnold/Dolores inside the park, trying to destroy this world, and the man in black from outside the park, trying to get the tech out, he has created Maeve as a weapon. But is she really a weapon, or has he foreseen the tech finally breaking his controlling grip, and breaching the real world? And the bicameral lunatics would be a disaster. Maeve has a better shot at behaving Enlightened?

Ford knows what’s coming. He defrosted his equivalent of an undead army in advance.
