Hi Guys,

First off, thanks so much for this season’s podcast. I could not have followed the season without your analysis each week, so I sincerely appreciate all the time and energy you all put into the pod.

Couple things I wanted to point out after today’s deep dive…

1: HBO Synopsis
Last night I got a Delos email that linked to a synopsis of the finale. It summed things up really concisely and set the multiple timelines straight. 2: Halores’ Purse Pearls
I wrote down every major character in season 2 who is a host and tried to narrow down who could be in the pearls that Halores snuck out of the park. For the sake of argument, let’s just assume that Dolores had access to all the hosts’ pearls. Here’s what I came up with:

Maeve / Hector / Armistice
Maeve & Friends are still in the park and it seemed clear to me that Sylvester and Felix are there to fix the trio and get them up and running again. As much as I’d love to see Maeve in the real world, and I think we will in season 3, I don’t think hers was one of the pearls. Essentially, if these three left the park there wouldn’t really be much of a park story to tell anymore.

Teddy / Akecheta
They’re in the Valley Beyond so it can’t be them according to Lisa Joy’s interview.

Stubbs
Can’t be Stubbs – he’s staying in the park to protect the hosts. And yes, he’s 100% a host.

Lawrence
I don’t think Lawrence was an important enough character, especially to Dolores’ mission, for her to smuggle out of the park. Crossing him off the list.

Peter Abernathy / Dolores’ Mom
I think Dolores has matured past the “family is my #1 priority” core drive. While it’s possible that Louis Hertham has a part in season 3 (and I hope he does – he’s awesome!!), I don’t know how he would help Dolores’ mission, especially since the Delos top brass knows he was the one they were all looking for. However, Dolores presumably still has his pearl since it was the encryption key to the data in the Forge, so even if Peter isn’t a character going forward his pearl would need to be kept in a safe place (or destroyed) so no one could mess with the VB if they managed to find where she hid it.

Possibles: MiB / Emily / Clementine / Angela
That leaves us with these four hosts as possible pearls, notwithstanding the possibility of new characters emerging.

MiB and Emily would only work if Dolores had a way to extract the pearl from a version of them stored in the Forge, and it seems conceivable to think that there would be. This would especially make sense if Dolores’ goal is to control Delos on a go-forward, like she’s doing with Hale’s body. Delos’ majority shareholder and/or his sole heir (that we know of) would be great people to impersonate.

While my top 2 guesses are Clementine and Angela, I think they’d need to be actual hosts, not the pearl in Hale’s body. It would be weird for a major character to not be physically on-screen… there’s only so much you can do with showing two people on screen playing one person (like a reflection in a mirror or using a shadow effect, etc.)

Lastly, I’d love to see new characters introduced. I really like the Emily character and hoped to see more of her, but adding new characters altogether would be interesting – which is what I think will happen with Hale’s body.

Sorry for the long email but hopefully it was helpful as we all try to sort this mess out together.
