Have a Theory? Share It Now!
Hey guys really enjoying the podcast! Just found it this week and binged all day at work. I’ve noticed a couple things that I don’t think you mentioned which either means I’m completely off the reservation or you mentioned it and I just missed it.
Here comes the big argument. I believe the multi timeline theory. Original right? But here’s what I noticed that I didn’t here mentioned. Maeve is never seen on screen with William and Logan. At least not that I’ve been able to track. Since they pointed out that she’s only been at the mariposas for a year and a half and they have shown William and Logan at and around the whore house and interacting with clementine but no Maeve it seems fishy. Every other person they’ve shown at the saloon has some type of interaction with Maeve. I think they just cleverly cut the two timelines together of Maeve being taken out of circulation right before William arrives to make it not as obvious. Also the wanted posters shown in town when William gets shot in episode two make no mention of hector. The bounty hunter is also different from Maeve’s timeline because that’s teddys job best I can tell. I think that during Williams story Maeve either doesn’t exist yet or is in the story line that she flashes back to getting scalped.
So I think it’s one timeline with William, and Logan in the past. A future timeline with Maeve, teddy, and the man in black.
To explain the flashbacks both Delores and Maeve have of the man in black; those could’ve been happening anytime in recent years. They show him with his knife appearing like he’s about to scalp both of them in “dreams/flashbacks” before he scalps kissy so maybe he had been searching for this legend for multiple trips before finally finding the right scalp.
I also noticed that when Bernard is interviewing Delores it looks like he’s in all black every time as opposed to his sweater, white shirt and tie ensemble. There’s also worth noting that the only time you see Ford in a grey vest and pants is when he’s outdoors.
Episode six shows the boy (robot young ford) looks just as real as every current model robot until he says turn the other cheek so that should put to bed the argument that if Williams story really took place 30 years ago that the robots would look older.
So there ya go. Two timelines.
I think the event that happened 30 years ago is what William, Logan and Delores are heading towards. Maeve is a whole new uprising about to happen. Theresa and the board are trying to usurp ford in the later timeline.
I also don’t have proof but I feel Bernard and Delores secret meetings happened during the first three years. That’s right Bernard is at very least now a host. He may have been Arnold originally. I could go on. If I’m just rambling at this point.
Keep up the good work guys! – Jordan

Flawless reasoning, Jordan. I think you’re on the right path and impressively clear in your prose.
