Westworld’s William Is A Host

Hey Roger, Dick, and Gene,

My name is Tony and your Podcast of Westworld is hands down the best around. Thank you guys for your analysis of this show and theories. This is a very cerebral show which I like a lot and hearing your insights makes it more enjoyable for me.

My theory of William being a host is that sometime before William’s wife commits suicide he may have been killed in the park by accident or by intent as part of Fords narrative. We are qued into this a couple of times. Has anyone ever caught on that William visits the park every year. What if Ford makes a new host body every year for William to coincide with his aging. We see this when young William is having the fidelity test with Delos. They show him aging overtime yes but I don’t think that this was done just to show how William was spending years to perfect Delos transition from human to host. We seen flashbacks of Dolores doing the fidelity test on Bernard in the same way. The things that were so parallel between Dolores and William in this episode with them both losing the ones they cared about can’t be a coincidence. I think we may find out that William may have died before the first season before his wife died because we see him checking his arm when he was putting her to bed. William was brought back because it was his wish. Resurrection was his goal in the first place right, but he doesn’t know he is a host of course. We know that Delos can’t get past 35 days without breaking down. I think knowing this Ford made William into a host and to get him to fully transition from human to host he has to suffer just like Dolores. Well William, we think, killed his daughter and this may be the catalyst. William was shot in the stomach, arms and legs and yet he’s still walking around like a host after they get shot. Also his weapon skills with that QA’s gun was very host-like as well. We also know that the QA team checked him but Maeve also can get a pass because she has no C6 explosive in her spine as well. Ford would have done this of course. With Williams stories with his daughter being so inconsistent and everything else, I have no doubt he’s a host. I maybe wrong of course but thats what makes this fun, right. Thank you again and keep up the good work.
