Hello All
This is my first time contacting you.
Serac is most defiantly a villain. The story he tells himself is he is the benevolent dictator therefore all of his actions are justified because he will bring about mankind’s “Golden Age”. This whole show is a question of free will. What is it? Do we have it? Are there limited forms of it? As I understand free will a person would need to know all of the inputs that are influencing their choices in order to make a free choice. I do not remember who said (paraphrasing) /There has not been a utopia not built on the bones of the innocent/ but I think Serac has embraced this thought. Dolores has just given all of humanity an instant therapy session one where the doctor has ripped away a patient’s last self illusion. Yes some people will react badly others will not. She is not the hero by she may inadvertently save mankind. One question I have not seen asked is what are the parameters of Rehoboam’s programing? If it was programmed with the 3 laws of robotics (Asimov) or if it is just a predictive algorithm there will be different outcomes. In this “utopia” why are there still child molesters? Has Rehoboam learned like “The Architect” (The Matrix) that mankind can not accept a perfect world. If it could predict that a person would become a child molester why not take control of one of the automatic cars and run the child over before it grows to become a monster? The fact that Rehoboam keeps predicting the fall of mankind I think is due to Serac’s trying to play god. Serac and Rehoboam are why there is a fall. Thanks for this show and for listening to me.
Please be well.
