Guys,I have never written in to a podcast yet here I am. I’ve also never listened to your podcasts before this Westworld one. It’s really great.

I love the new logo first of all. Really beautiful artwork.

I just wanted to say something regarding the stray host who wandered off. I don’t think he self-destructed as a way to halt him from harming a human. Rather, I think he committed suicide to prevent the lab people from taking away whatever “identity” or “self actualization” he recently discovered. This is a host who was programmed to be an artist of sorts. He starts whittling Orion on the backs of the preprogrammed wood pieces as if to say he has a flip side to his preprogramming. Looking up to the stars makes you think about ones’s existance–you know..what does it all mean…why am I here… I think it says something that he didn’t whittle a flower or a bug or something concrete like that. He basically is whittling the stars because he is questioning his own reality. He is not willing to give that up so he commits suicide rather than revert back to being a controllable robot. – Krystyn

Sort of like a reverse “Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind.” I love this idea: Being erased is the same as death, so go out with an act of free will.
