I’m really glad that season three has started and that all of you are back. It’s also great to hear Ashley, whose contributions have made the podcast even better!
I love that we don’t know what conflict will evolve between Delores, Delos, Incite, and Maeve but the big episode one question for me was Caleb. I enjoyed your ideas on why he might be a host but I think you’re right that it’s too obvious.
My theory is that Caleb is a human in a type of loop. Maybe most humans are on loops, maybe it’s related to his head injury, maybe he’s part-host, but I’m not sure it matters. I think that he is intentionally being made to seem like a host to demonstrate how some or most humans in the future are no better off than hosts, repeating a limited existence while the rich and powerful take advantage.
Looking forward to the rest of the season and binging Watchmen while I socially distance myself.

The idea of humans being on loops like hosts is really interesting to me. We all have defining moments, bad and good, that help determine how we relate to the world and navigate through it. I think that’s why the cornerstones that ground the hosts’ loops make them so human like. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out this season!
