Delos And Free Will

Hi everyone:

First off, I want to say that I’ve loved the podcast for many years now (and all the other Shat podcasts). You make me and many others feel like one of the group by the way you present the pod. I love the addition of Ash to the show; she’s a great new voice but please know I love Rog, Gene, and Big D (not listed in order of intelligence).

I won’t write a dissertation but wanted to share some thoughts. Big thought: this season seems to be centered (so far) on free will versus predetermined behavior. Could it be that Insight had a market advantage when it came to capturing human data, thus being at the forefront of predictive behavior? Who knows how they did it; maybe that will be revealed in future episodes. Delos could very well have started as a competitor but found itself on the short end of things. To make up ground, they may have gone “underground” with their data mining operation by running fantasy parks to capture human data via hosts. Could this be the secret project that was referred to often in the first two seasons?

“Forge” Logan, speaking for the system, hints that the Delos system has predicted human behavior down to an algorithmic level, via 4 million samples, and tested millions of times over. I think this would make them a major competitor of Insight. Further thoughts: maybe William knew how dangerous Insight was going to be for humanity’s free will (something he seems to be seeking from the hosts). Did he take over Delos to counterbalance Insight?

Other quick notes:

Caleb’s session with the therapist may be revealing. They talk about a program. Caleb says something like “you were watching us.” Who? Reminded me of Homecoming in a way (the Julia Roberts series which recently aired).

Caleb’s recollection of the battle which killed Francis. I caught a quick view of a sign which had Cyrillic letters.

Rehoboam’s screens (black and white), with meta-analysis, reports minor anomalies until Delores meets with Liam. It then reports something like Special Circumstance.

Delores’ text setup the ambush. She used predictive behavior to replace Liam’s security chief. She’s using her knowledge from the Forge against Rehoboam.
