Why Doesn’t the MIB Just “Cheat”
I’ve heard this show compared to a video game several times so my question is why doesn’t the MIB just “cheat”. If he has been going to the park for 30 years and each time seems to get further and further then why not just skip through the parts you’ve already been through and go straight to where you last left off? Is there anything in the show to tell us he’s doing something different daily or is he just getting further into “the game” every day?
Another question is why would the MIB bother to shot anyone, from what I understand he’s human and can’t be killed or harmed, it did seem to me one of the cousins was fighting back but only with arm strength, no weapon. So he knows he can’t be hurt so why not just go straight for the important kill (example: the mother of the little girl) and proceed to then get what you want?
Thanks guys! B

My guess: The MiB is a good sport. Just because my girlfriend is a rank 45 in Titanfall doesn’t mean she doesn’t take great pleasure in waxing Grunts with the Smart Pistol. It’s all an exhilarating game to the MiB, and he loves playing it the right way.
Also, Westworld largely operates in loops. Remember when the camp couldn’t proceed without the Woodcutter? Events must be set in motion very specifically, and the MiB shows great patience in his planning.
