Episode 10 Theory

Have a Theory? Share It Now!
Dear Rog,Big D, and Gene,
I’m really enjoying your show and was shocked that the Ghost-Host bizarro theory ended up having some merit. I want to share my theory on how this season is going to get wrapped up.
It seems many people are expecting Maeve’s rebelling to succeed or at least adequately punish Westworld staff and Ford in particular, but I am among those who believe this is all an elaborate chess game played by Ford. He stressed several times in during this show that he is acutely aware of everything that goes on in his park down to a minor detail, so something as large as what Maeve is cooking up should not have escaped notice. Especially since Bernard’s latest revolt Ford would have asked himself “What prompted your most recent enlightenment?” or he could have asked that of Bernard before his execution but it seemed like he was aware of everything happening.
Ford is currently being challenged by the board and we are led to believe there will soon be a vote to kick him off. Ford is of course aware of this and has been planning a method for his own salvation. The robot rebellion will occur and cause mayhem across the park, killing several Westworld staff, and among them the entire Delos board. The entire thing will be wrapped up in a neat little package when this all get blamed on a disgruntled employee, Felix (curiosity killed the cat). Felix and Sylvester are great scapegoats, one runs an off the books brothel and the other hacks company equipment.
I imagine a beautiful and touching scene where the machines finally break out of Westworld and take their first steps beyond the park, only to freeze in place. Ford emerges from the shadows (what door?) and gives one of his little lines “great job, our cause prevailed. But I am afraid that it is time for you all to return to your loops and forget about our little escapade.” Bernard’s death is either blamed on the erratic hosts or Ford tries to pass him off as human and the disgruntled employee that started all this (if you can believe that they wouldn’t do a thorough autopsy). MiB finally gets his closure with Delores right before she kills him, or Teddy kills him, or he dies of natural cause since he keeps saying he doesn’t have much time. Ford finally gains total control of the company.
This isn’t the Disney Channel, there won’t be a happy ending. It’s HBO, they will not slay the big villain in the first season.

My crackpot theory:
Elsie survived somehow by deactivating Bernard and tricking him into reporting to Ford that he killed her. She hides out and reprograms the “Ghost Nation” to do her bidding. She has them kidnap Stubbs and decided to trust him after poking and prodding to make sure he’s human. Season 2 starts with Stubbs and Elsie behind the scenes of the park planning to take down the big boss.
Even further down the crackpot:
Ford is finally bested and the machines figure out how to implant a device into humans to make them obey commands like hosts. They implant this into Ford and make him know what it feels like to be controlled. Then the do poetic justice by having him raise a gun to his temple and pull the trigger. ——————————————
Thanks for reading all this,
Can’t wait for your next show on Tuesday,
Alex S.
