Ford’s Motivation

Ben and Sam here again with another crackpot theory!

We now have been told that Ford’s motivation can’t be artificial consciousness, because he doesn’t believe in consciousness. So what could his motivations be?

What if Ford believes that the intellect of the host is more pure than that of a human. He describes human intellect as “an extravagant display to attract a mate,” comparing all that human intellect has accomplished to peacock feathers. A host can go beyond that because they don’t have to mate. Ford believes that any accomplishments made by hosts would be purer and potentially much greater because they are not done for the “basest of reasons.” While humans and peacocks “can barely fly,” the potential for the host intellect is astronomical, not only because they are insanely smart and have literally perfect photographic memory, but also because they are not driven by the “basest of reasons.”

Let us know what you think.

Best,

Ben and Sam 🙂

PS To give more credence to your Teddy theory, Teddy even comes in on the train like a newcomer. Everything about him and Dolores would mirror what a guest in love with Dolores would do.
