I’m Sorry. I Can’t Shut Down My Brain.

Gentlemen,

Still manically thinking about Westworld and I just realized something else, that could support my earlier emails. One major piece of evidence mentioned, supporting the possibility of Arnold being solely AI was, “how could no one know Arnold died?” I mentioned the Argos Initiative’s secrecy, Logan’s lack of diligence, and the small number of humans in the park when Arnold was killed. But, something still wasn’t sitting right. Then, I figured it out. Because, I remember. I believe Big D mentioned it on the pod, what about Arnold’s family? What if Ford truly wanted to be God, he was going to have to work for it? What if he created Bernard to deceive Arnold’s family, to get them come to Westworld, after Arnold’s death but, before the park opened. So he could kill them, cover it up as well, and be certain that no one would ever come around asking questions about Arnold? Then, he could keep playing God for the next 35 years”

“No. No. That’s far too perfunctory.” “” Robert Ford

I have to stop now. Now, I’m done. Until the next pod, I guess.

Accident in the park. Just like Teresa. This one possibly more plausible. In this hypothetical, the park is not yet open. Safety protocols, security teams, systems, and cameras are likely not in place. Assuming Arnold was human, how big was his family? We do not know. I surmise that if he was human, he likely did not have a large family. We only hear of his wife and son. After losing his son and being torn a part from his wife, if Arnold had family to support him, would he be so willing to kill himself? I do not believe so. It would seem more likely that, Arnold wouldn’t have much family left. If this was indeed the case, Ford would have known. Maybe, Arnold was an only child. Perhaps, Arnold’s parents were already dead. Perhaps, since Arnold’s son was already dead, the only “family” member Ford had to deal with was Arnold’s ex-wife. Perhaps, Ford had Bernard kill her too. If Ford had Arnold’s wife killed, he could have obtained her DNA. Perhaps, that’s how Ford created the character of Bernard’s wife for his Skype calls.

What the shit, Wes? How would Ford explain an entire missing family?

Clearly I am just now realizing, I can reply directly to your comments. I would like to add something. You’ll recall, those first three years in the park were glorious. Pure creation. No guests. This was Arnold and Ford’s life’s work. We hear of neither of them having any significant family. There is a possibility neither person left the park for the entirety of those first three years. If no one in the outside world had contact Arnold in the past three years, would it be so difficult to effectively cover up his death?

That’s a really good point, Wes. We’ve either got two recluses (one of whom avoids his terminally ill son and wife for three years) or we have a man and his AI. Or maybe something else entirely.
