My Humble Westworld Thoughts
I love listening to your podcasts and remember you from the first Westworld Season. I’ve only written in a few times because I don’t have the gift of language like your other listeners. Numbers easily come to me not words and you’re probably reading the 10th draft of this email.
The opening images of Rehoboam looks like a solar eclipse with the divergences resembling solar flares in the sun’s corona sphere. That’s when my mind begins to wonder. Solar mass ejections create havoc on the earth as they can knock out electronic equipment, electrical grids or even life on earth. Divergences are dangerous to Rehoboam and ejections from the sun is dangerous to earth. It made me think what else sun related could I associate with the show.
The Mayan’s worshiped the sun often making sacrifices to it to nourish their god. Ford in season one states, “Sadly, in order to restore things, the situation demands a blood sacrifice.” Does this mean that Ford is aware of Rehoboam? Also, did he write his narrative to maintain Rehoboam or destroy it? Who knows if the show will ever answer that question. What I know is that I’m using random events in my memory to explain a chaotic show which is what we’re all trying to do. It’s in our nature to create order out of chaos. This led us to create language, mathematics, artwork and music. In the end its human nature that drives the show and our love for it.
Thank you for your time and keep up the good work.
With warm regards,
Eugene
