Re: Bernard, Our Ford Is Getting Weary?

Have a Theory? Share It Now!

Thanks, Rog! I’m happy to share your tin foil hat!

Yes, basically I had 2 ideas.

1: as Bernard is interpreted as a human by other hosts, Bernard could use the kill phrase code to use another host as a weapon against a human.

2: Maybe Ford already was killed this way in the past (or near future), and that he is already host Ford motivated by protecting Host kind!

I’m less convinced of these since seeing the latest episode, but they could still work out. Maeve still didn’t actually kill Sylvester (only attempt to) so hasn’t broken the no-killing-humans code yet.

I’ve listened to the Instacast and am most way through the deep dive. What’s up with Big D? Big D seemed to be very keen to shut you down in the Instacast! You were getting to the “known facts”, you were just dressing them in questions.

Seriously, though, you guys are all great and I love listening to you. Whatever show you review next, I will at least try to get into so I can enjoy your companion podcasts!

Ok, I’ve just another theory: explaining how Westworld bullets work!

The bullets are like paintballs. Like William found out, they hurt but don’t kill when they hit a human. When the “paintball” hits a host it’s not fatal as of itself, but at that moment a small explosion is internally triggered at the point of impact. Perhaps this is done with one of many little capsules under the skin all over the host which contain a chemical which reacts with a hosts blood causing a tiny explosion blowing a small hole in their clothes at that point. It is probably technically possible. It is the future after all…?

We did see Maeve dig an actual bullet out of her abdomen, so this process above would also need to leave behind a bullet under the skin. Each host could have a measure of bullets in their gut which are internally transferred to the “infected” area after each hit. After all, its been mentioned many times the parks attention to details.

Yes, this is a little far-fetched, but in a park with this level of tech, it is practically very possible. Is it a better theory than the bullets just decide not to hurt the guests? I think it is because there is less risk of it going wrong when we’re talking about bullets making advanced A.I. decisions at super high speeds.?

Also, a minotaur theory from the last episode. The Bull in the last episode and the continued presence of the maze reminds me of the minotaur story. In that story is the character of Ariadne who is in love with the hero and helped him navigate the maze. Ariadne is a name that sounds very like Abernathy, Delores’s surname. Could this be a clue that she will help someone navigate the maze? William fits… Maybe she will help William as the Man in Black to actually complete it in the most future timeline. I prefer the theory that she is the one traveling to the center of the maze, but maybe it will turn out she is there to help Willam (or someone else)…

The another way we could go with this is that her Father is the Abernathy about to return and help her navigate the maze…

Keep up the excellent work guys! You really have made something special here!
