Sublime Host VR World Time Dilation

Hey guys, I know I missed the cut off but I want to save this one for this weeks coming episode.

We’ve seen in this season how in the VR world, time is running faster then in the real world. I have a feeling that when Maeve gets to her daughter, so much time will have passed in the VR world, Maeve won’t even recognize her. Of course, that’s if the hosts are aging in this utopia, but for this theory, let’s say they are.

The sublime world is on board that satellite floating in orbit. This adds another element to time dilation in that the satellite is moving at thousands of miles per hour in space thus adding to the time dilation. This is a real thing that happens and can be measured. The Nolan’s are famous for messing with time even in this show, but think of the Chris Nolan movie Interstellar, where gravity and time are messed with. In that movie the main character Cooper and the other astronauts land on a planet that is too close to a black hole. Due to the black holes immense gravity it slows down time causing time to differ from one point in space (closest to the black hole) to another ( away from it, like on earth). With the few hours spent on that planet, 20 plus years go by on earth. The same time manipulation could occur in the VR system in Westworld. It will be a bitter sweet moment for Maeve to see her daughter as an old woman or even to find that all the uploaded hosts have died off in this utopia somehow due to the passage of time. 3 months have gone by since the end of season 2 and now so who knows how much time has gone by in the VR world. Again this is all tin foil but something to ponder.

On a side note, You guys, including Ashley are the best and I love listening to your podcasts especially during this time. I will be commissioning some movies really soon so be on the look out. Your podcasts are so important to people like me who don’t have people that are so highly interested in shows like Westworld or movies that I cared about as a kid. You give all of us a chance to leave our crazy world for an hour and join in the conversation as friends. Thank you again for what you guys do and stay safe.
