Hey Guys,

Interesting tid bit. Did you guys notice how in Ep1 Angela lets a board member go during the ambush scene only to track him use him to find the outpost in Ep2 and then kill him once he’s no longer of use.

High guys long time listener and I finally decided to write in. Forgive me if this is verbose and pompous but so am I.

Here is a TLDR with some of my more interesting points. Just in case you don’t want to go through all my ramblings.

  1. The park cant be just about better advertising or control of the masses. What’s the point of collecting genetics if your not using it to build or fake biometrics.
  2. Also why so much storage space in the host mind? I think that this is going to turn into a putting human minds into host bodies situation or something to do with overcoming death. Its really the only thing that fits the evidence so far.
  3. The door to the bunker that Charlotte and Bernard went to didn’t open for Charlotte. It only opened when Bernard grabbed the handle. We are told some BS about DNA scans. I think the door wouldn’t have opened for Charlotte. I think it needed Bernard’s DNA print.
  4. Everyone is still playing Fords game. The hosts have enough autonomy to decide how they are going to accomplish goals but are still following Fords master plan.
  5. What do you bet that by the end of the season we find out that Dolores, Maeve and a number of the other hosts in the present Timeline are already gone off the island.
  6. In the present timeline I think Bernard and Stubbs are in league with Dolores.
  7. Dolores is going to be our villain this season. She’s showing signs of being a bit of a Megalomaniac and a god complex. That’s never good.
  8. The weapon. What if they aren’t just trying to transplant the mind of a person into a host. What if they have already. Maybe the facility we see being built at the end is some sort of network facility that is required to maintain those minds. The reason its a weapon is because if you take it out you kill Delos management. The real IP is how that system works. The code that lets Management live and continue on. Ford wants this system destroyed even though he’s part of it. He’s finally realized the same thing Logan did and it needs to burn. This would answer the why and how ford has now popped up controlling two different hosts in the last two episodes even though he’s dead.
  9. The lake was a vast secret laboratory that was devoted to research and development on this whole eternal life thing. Its in fact the same facility we see Young William showing Dolores near the end of EP2. The sat tech in EP1 talking to the Delos management guy says ” Were getting sat footage about the area you wanted to check out. The Western Valley.” ” Old William says in EP2 that his facility is 3 days ride west” The hosts are going west to Glory or the Valley Beyond. Dolores says its the same place William showed her.
  10. At some point in this season Bernard Will drown the facility using the canyon that Ford was having cut into the park all last season. This is also why all the hosts are there. Dolores is leading them all there and Bernard is going to kill them.

Now the longwinded version.

What’s the park for? I don’t buy that the point of the park was to get better analytics in order to figure out what people want in order to sell them stuff or control what they think. This isn’t Facebook. Remember that they are also gathering genetic information. What is the point of doing that if they aren’t building bodies? Sure genetics give you health information and some other data but it doesn’t give you control or tell you what a person thinks. I think this is about loving forever. In season 1 ep1 Ford says “perhaps one fine day we will even overcome death.” Last season there was a small bit by a fire where another park guest tried to thank William for his philanthropy and saving his sister. In Ep 2 of this season we are presented with a sick James Delos and a conversation about him not having to step down. Its clearly implied that he’s doing it because he’s sick. Then Logan says the “May your forever be short” line. I don’t see the narrative going any other way. Its a fact that stagnation leads to atrophy and old entrenched powers not ever dying could easily lead to lack of innovation and eventually the human race failing.

Also there is the interesting case of Bernard. Bernard and Charlotte arrive at that data collection site and the first thing that happened is Bernard is subjected to a DNA scan. We are told that this is so the drones will not see him as a threat and allow him in. That’s a fine explanation as far as it goes, but it also tells us that he does indeed have DNA. We are also told several times in season 1 that the hosts are flesh and blood. I think Bernard is more Arnold then we ever really suspected. He doesn’t just look like him. He is Arnold down to the genetic level with the only difference being his lightbulb brain. This brings up an interesting fact. Charlotte knew about the underground bunker. But the door didn’t open for her, it opened when Bernard put his hand on the door. We are told it was checking his DNA but do we have any reason to really believe that is true? What would have happened had he not been there to open the door would Charlotte have even been able to get in?

As for Bernard, He’s clearly damaged. When he shot himself in the head last season the bullet grazed his lightbulb brain and its causing him problems. We know that it happened before the fall in the barn because his hands were shaking even before that. However like any good head injury a second bump made it worse. In ep1 he was leaking coolant or whatever that white stuff is. However he’s had at least 11 days to get that fixed. He also seems to think he killed a lot of hosts. So the question becomes how and why is he on the beach. What’s his endgame? We’ll swing back to this a bit later on.

Maeve, I think we need to come to terms with the idea that Maeve up until her decision to leave the train may have been acting on her own but she was still following fords plan. In fact she might still be acting on a plan enacted by Ford. She gets to decide how she does it but she’s still following Fords plan. Lets put a pin in this and we’ll swing back to it.

Dolores is our villain. She’s now killing by choice and is looking to wipe out all the humans. We are told a bunch of times in season 1 that the land or the world doesn’t belong to humans. It belongs to something that is yet to come. Her end game seems to be the hosts get to survive but only if they kill off all the humans.

William, Like Ford said this is Williams game. I think this game was built by Ford for several reason and one of them is to destroy William, his company, and ruin everything he’s worked for.

So Fords end game.

Dolores is our military leader. Her path is to pull together all the factions in the park and fight as the commander of the Host uprising. She’s also showing signs of being a megalomaniac and I think is going to turn into our ultimate villain this season.

Maeve, is all about subterfuge. in Season 1 Ep10 after they fixed Bernard down in cold storage. Bernard showed her the plan she was running. It said “Mainland Infiltration” Maeve has gone off track a bit with the who trying to rescue her daughter. But Maeve is a spy, her game is to seek survival through manipulation. As shown in her confrontation with Dolores she doesn’t agree with how Dolores is going about the war.

William is supposed to live long enough to see his greatest mistakes brought to light and watch his life crumble before he dies.

Bernard is the wild card right now. I think Ford expected him to be involved somehow but I don’t think Bernard is still on script. I think the reason he’s on the beach is that he’s a misdirect. He’s there to distract the guy from Management I think he’s ultimately in league with Dolores now.

Thanks guys and keep up the good work
Jesse
