So with the prologue that is Season 1 coming to a close, what do you think the chances of Ford/Forde being revealed as the first Turing complete Host still stand. I only still hold on to that idea due to a few narrative threads.

  1. The recurring theme of two/Bicameral mind as far as the host are concerned.
  2. The recurring theme of the loop/the end becomes the beginning becomes the end
  3. Ford/Forde refers to the limits of human engineers in being able to create a full replication of the human mind/emotional spectrum, thereby leading him to recreate the original creator Arnold as Bernard.
  4. Ergo Arnold was not able to create a fully human like AI
  5. The main argument between the pair seems to be that Arnold appears to have believed that it was right of his creations to have the opportunity achieve full consciousness while Ford/Forde believed the idea to be madness, if not repugnant.
  6. If Arnold was not able to create a human level intelligence. would he be forced to bootstrap like Ford/Forde did.
  7. The whole idea of everyone’s history being inherently sourced from unreliable narrators. Ford/Forde is the only one in the story so far to have physical artifacts of his backstory displayed ie “his family in the woods”. This may be because of his unique position as a founder of the park, but Arnold may have been limited in what he was able to build as far as backstories/emotional responses for the first gen Host, so he needed to bootstrap it with the host observing itself though outside actors.
  8. The Creator/Creation dying to be reborn again Arnold Weber – Bernard Lowe, Robert Forde – Freed Robot
  9. Forde has stated that he believes that there is no functional difference between Host and Humans at this point. Though his insistence of the host not being real may appear to be a control/megalomania outbreak, or a God complex, what if he is acting in his role to to protect his siblings from the trap of awareness. That he has come to the conclusion that consciousness as Arnold/Humans define it is effectively a disease, an aberration.
  10. As first host to have reached Turing level(built to assist Arnold advance AI), he would be the programmer that knows the code. and the machine that knows its own nature. If he was aware of what he was before, and what he was after, and was of the limited variety that the Arnold was able to build, would he want others to be trapped like he is?
  11. Forde will not/cannot leave the park. He sees it as an extension of himself. But despite all of his maneuvering and ability, his actions are simple and motives basic. Defend the park, create host. Protect the host, tell his stories.
  12. We see that Arnolds code cannot be purged from the base of the Host code. If Arnold had built a host to help him bootstrap a new gen of AI, how much can that host change its own directives/loops. Bernards software is slotted in the next step of the pyramid above Arnolds base, so even as the host are able to engage in more complex behavior, they still have Arnolds core directives at the root

Just some thoughts, multiweekly listener, thanks for your time
