Hey guys, I’ll admit it. I was one of those people who wasn’t looking forward to the episode we got. I was bitching and moaning all week that I wanted something that would blow my mind, something that would “shock” me, something that we never see coming. After watching though I will have to say the show runners know what I want more than I do. They gave me something I never saw coming that is for sure and I loved every damn minute of it!

I am not sure I have seen anything like this on TV. Has there been another show that has taken a whole episode to let you just hang out with your favorite characters especially this late in the game when there is this much on the line? Even though we didn’t get any “action” I still felt the suspense and the terror waiting on the Army of the Dead. I felt like I was a solider at Winterfell walking into different rooms and seeing how everyone is preparing for the upcoming battle. We had a group of friends around a fire shooting the shit, we had our fearless Night’s Watch brothers taking one last “Watch” on the wall(this gave me chill bumps “whoever is last burn the rest of us”), the young among us were enjoying the fruits of being young. Down below we had our fiery leaders stirring up drama for after the battle, almost coming to an argument about Iron Throne claims. This was so much and I know in the future will be the episode that many go to to spend just a little more time with the friends we have made on this show.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms of course also makes me think of the Dunk and Egg stories that take place in Westero’s(about 100 years before our current story)and we know from GRRM that Brienne is kin to Ser Duncan the Tall(who would have Egg, Aegon the V, squire for him and go on to be Lord Commander of his Kingsguard) some where down the line. In his story he plays a Knight but we have no proof of his Knighthood. Even though he is probably the best candidate for a Knight because he is so chivalrous. So getting to see the person who is most Knightly in this series get Knighted and not just Knighted, Knighted by the Golden Hand the Just had me standing in applause. Bravo!

Without over doing it GOT did it again. They have set all the pieces up for the battle true, but also afterward.

We have Jaime who tells them that Cersei is just waiting on the survivors of the battle so that she can mop up afterward. Lending to the theory that just south around the neck Cersei’s armies are just waiting on Jon and Dany’s armies.

You have Sansa and Dany’s conversation that showed why everyone keeps saying Sansa is so smart. At first it looked like Dany was going to pull one over on Sansa. We have Sansa giving those girlish smiles and laughs after Dany says “who manipulated whom?” Then Sansa playing along with it saying ” I should have thanked you the moment you got here” Thinking well that problem was squashed quick. Nope Sansa was actually playing the game. Let Dany feel warm and welcome and lets see exactly how much freedom I can squeeze out for the North. Sansa checking to see just how much Dany does love Jon.

I was a lot like y’all on the Arya scene. I knew it was coming, but I for sure did not expect to SEE IT!!! I figured we would get some heavy flirting then cut to another scene leaving it more assumed than anything, but they blew that door wide open. I truly don’t know where she goes from here.

I know I’m skipping plenty but I am sure other emailers will fill in.

We finally have Dany and Jon in the crypts and the reveal we have been waiting on since season 1 happens. Dany acts exactly how anyone would. Her reaction was so real to it. Then the horn blows. This is one plot point I truly hope doesn’t get blown over. I want to see some true problems come out of this because in all of GRRM’s history these things don’t end with weddings. They end in Fire and Blood. Just look up The Dance of Dragons or the Blackfyre Rebellions. Targaryen throne squabbles are never as easy as falling in love and getting married. Plus a lot of symbolism lines up from the Dance of Dragons. The female claimant(Rhaenyra) were the blacks Dany’s Dragon is Black, King Aegon the Third’s side were the Greens and Jon’s(Aegon’s) Dragon is Green. I know there isn’t time for it, but man would that be a way to end it.

Either way like I said. I thought I would hate an episode like this, but in reality it did everything I wanted it to do. It brought forward all the stress points in our characters and where they stand on the issues right before the Battle for the Dawn. So whoever is left afterward better be ready for the ultimate race for the finish of the Game of Thrones!!!

Again thanks guys for all the hard work. I enjoyed GOT before y’all started On the Throne, but this community has made watching the last two season that much more enjoyable.
