Alien Nation (1988)

When a group of extraterrestrial refugees becomes part of everyday society, one veteran detective is forced to partner with someone he never expected to trust. As they investigate a series of mysterious crimes, old prejudices and dangerous conspiracies begin to surface. What starts as a buddy cop movie quickly becomes something much bigger, blending action, science fiction, and social commentary.
