Dear hosts,

Thought I’d point something out for your discussion of what the episodes title means. When ‘The Well-Tempered Clavier’ is mentioned, everyone thinks of Johann Sebastian Bach’s set of pieces for the keyboard. But Bach was not the only composer to write a piece called ‘The Well-Tempered Clavier’! 20 years after Bach, another composer wrote a Well-Tempered Clavier – and his name was BERNHARD WEBER.

In the episode, when Dolores is beneath the church in the facility, she enters Arnold’s office. The name on the door is ARNOLD WEBER.

ARNOLD WEBER is an anagram of BERNARD LOWE.

People who knew about Bernhard Weber and figured out Bernard’s name was an anagram would have realised that the episode’s title foreshadowed the twist.
