Thoughts on the Maze

I really enjoy the podcast and appreciate that you guys are acknowledging that you are speculating on the meaning of the show vs. thinking you know the answers. I’m not certain about anything on the show.

You talked about what the maze is on episode four cast. Here is my thought: the maze is the final key to unlocking the top of the pyramid. The “violent delights” phrase is part of the code to getting the hosts to access full consciousness, but only a way to get started. The maze might be some code that Arnold completed that Dr. Ford appropriated, if you will. Multiple characters want the maze –

MIB wants it as he wants a more real experience…he wants the hosts to be conscious as completely blur the line between what is real and what is programmed. He essentially wants to escape the world and make the park his world. (or, he sees the maze as the end to the park as he knows it and is working against Dr. Ford and the hosts who want to find it and thereby destroy the park as he knows it).

Bernard, invoking his inner Arnold, wants Delores to find it to unlock the top of the pyramid and truly be free.

Not sure on Dr. Ford’s motivation – you’d think he’d be against the hosts accessing the maze, but he seems to have complete disdain for Delos and may want them out of the park completely.

Just some random thoughts after listening to the cast again. Thanks for everything! – Christopher
