Westworld Podcast

Hi guys,

I have been listening for weeks now to the Westworld Podcast. I found my way over from the last season of Game of Thrones. I listened to the Podcasts while driving down to Virginia. The insights and ideas that you guys throw out there are awesome and I recently finished Watchmen so decided to give your Westworld podcasts a go during this “pandemic”.

As I watch the show, I can not break the feeling that it is all an infinite loop. The characters and story lines from the being to this point are all playing a “game”. Making “choices” and playing “rolls” to feed into a story line. No matter what depth we go into, you can trace back every characters actions and “choices” to a predetermined outcome.

In the simplest of terms, two entities (the creator of the maze and the player in the maze) are “programmed” to play out a simulation. There can be no end without a beginning. It is an infinite loop. Hence the Catch 22 of technology. I’ve heard brilliant insight and theories of the show, and anything that makes you THINK as much as this show is a beacon of light in these times.

Whether any character is “human” or a product of the “simulation”, it begs the question of whether there really was a choice or a predetermined outcome. At no point would any of them be able to “know” that they were doing what they “believed” to be right or what was predestined.

This is just jumbled thoughts but I appreciate all you guys do and you make an amazing podcast, Keep up the amazing work!
