William’s Understanding of Hosts Consciousness

Hey guys,

Love your show, your chemistry, and the banter.

I have a question about William. If we are to believe he is the MIB then I am a bit confused about his true beliefs about the hosts’ consciousness in the past timeline, if indeed there are any.

He (or not him) states in the present that killing Maeve and her daughter was the first time he realized the hosts are capable of being ‘alive’. Does this, therefore, mean that through his trials and tribs with Dolores he still did not find her to be truly ‘alive’? Even after all the sexy time and deep and meaningful (pun intended). was he just playing out his repressed heroic/man with a purpose fantasy and just using Delores as a means to an end?

He does seem to treat all hosts with compassion from the get go. It solidifies the theory of her first ‘awakening’ as a purely directed narrative for William’s benefit/leverage, the conclusion of which I hope we see by season’s end.

I am very interested to see how it plays out in the final two episodes and I would love to hear your thoughts.

Big love to you three and keep up the excellent work.

Kind regards

Joe
