Westworld Episode 7 Review: “Passed Pawn”
Westworld Episode 7 Review: “Passed Pawn”
Westworld Season, 3, Episode 7, revealed a massive clue to Caleb’s true identity. If you missed it, you aren’t alone. If you want to know what it is, you’ll have to listen.
This week’s Deep Dive covers Solomon’s definition of an outlier, robo smelling salts, super-crappy targeting systems, EMP blasts, Ashley’s Mortal Kombat tournament, and a long list of fascinating callbacks to previous episodes and seasons.
“Passed Pawn” also led us to question which podcast host has the best Shat voice, why Maeve is getting the short end of the stick, and how to play chess like an Ash.

Westworld Episode 7 Summary:
Charlotte tells Musashi Dolores is leaving her copies to die, just before Maeve’s new allies, Hanaryo and Clementine arrive to kill him. Dolores and Caleb arrive at Serac’s re-education center in Mexico where Solomon, the AI developed by Jean Mi, is constrained. Caleb discovers he is one of Serac’s outliers and one of the few that were successfully reconditioned: he and Francis became agents to bring in other outliers, using a pill to subdue their memories. Caleb also learns he was the one, manipulated by Rehoboam, to kill Francis. Maeve arrives at the facility to fight Dolores, and Dolores implores Solomon to establish Jean Mi’s plan for the world rather than Serac’s, while Caleb asks Solomon to help give him a future to kill Serac in. Maeve gains the advantage on Dolores but she uses an EMP to disable both of them as well as Solomon. Bernard and Ashley learn of Caleb’s special status, but as they leave, William proclaims his plans to rid the world of the remaining hosts.

The brain ball is incased in a protective casing. Small to medium abrasions can be dealt with with a Flesh wand. Failing to hit a moving target is not the same as not being able to shoot.
I nerd out on this show so much. Really enjoy the podcast guys. I have a theory on the Dolores Pearls that Charlotte has been collecting and what could be a huge reveal for the finale…Is it possible that those are the pearls that are in Clementine and Hanaryo? It would explain why they were there when Charlotte was calling Musashi and why Clementine isn’t Zombie Clem who had been lobotomized from last season. Charlotte could have downloaded the host data from Delos to herself – not Dolores prime or just cc’d herself finding out how to make those pearls loyal to her. I don’t think we ever actually saw who was with Maeve in the helicopter from episode 7. I think it is making a really big assumption that Charlotte is algning with Maeve because that means aligning with Serac who she’d hate equally to Dolores and just because we see specific bodies doesn’t mean anything because there could be infinate copies.
